About Author

First of all, I am SO grateful to you for taking the time to read the Dear Thor Blog.

I’m a: single, well educated, attractive 35 year old successful career gal, from a great family, living and working in Santa Monica, California. The inspiration for this blog came out of my many trials and tribulations of Online Dating over the last year. Before I started this blog my war wounds and hilarious stories were reserved only for my friends. Has something ever happened to you in your life and you say to yourself, “gosh, I really should write a book about this?” But the moment passes, you go back to your real life and forget about it? I’ve had a lot of those. Then, I received an email message from the real Thor. The correspondence was too funny and inspired an entire blog.

Dear LACuteJewishGal,

I enjoyed the evening meeting you, dinner, and the time at your apartment. I’ve been working non stop since then and am right now in Oakland. I think you’re really attractive, you’re beautiful and it’s very easy to be sexually attracted to you. I don’t know if there is a relationship potential there though. That’s the reason I left early. You talked a lot about a sexual relationship but even only that isn’t a little step for me. I hope that’s not as awful as it sounds. If you don’t want to talk to me, I understand, but know that we can.

Dear Thor,
Thank you for your email. I can honestly say that I haven’t spent a minute of my life thinking about you. The main reason I feel this way is because I have never met you in my life, of this–I am certain. While I’ve been in the dating game longer then I care to admit–I can honestly say that this is a first.
The “I’m sorry it’s not you–it’s me” speech has usually been reserved for people who have actually met me.
Until now…..
My lifelong friend, Evan, has been sitting back and hearing about my dating fiascos for the last 20 years. When I told him about Thor, he simply said “ok, it’s finally time for you to write about this. Because the only logical thing you can do when the Universe keeps giving you lemons is to make lemonade.”
